Self Sabotage 7  Mistakes

1. Learning without Implementing –

At some point in the learning process you must implement. That means you must do the action you’ve learned to receive the benefits of learning something. You can become a career student, but you won’t earn any money.

2. Not Finding a Mentor or Success Partner –

You need someone who will hold you accountable to your goals, and has your best interest in mind. You can’t rely on your best friend or even your spouse for this job. They are personally invested in you and they may not tell you the hard truths that you need to hear. This needs to be someone that also understands the steps needed to be successful. Find someone who is where you want to be, or that is in the trenches with you. Ask them if they want to be success partners this month or if they could mentor you. You could also hire a personal business coach who has experience in what you’re trying to do.

3. Focusing on the Wrong Things –

It’s easy to go nuts with all the different strategies that you see in every direction, but most of them are not where you need to place your focus on at the moment. I know when you see so and so having huge success with Instagram you want to run over there and be only on Instagram, but that may not be right for you. Even if it is it will take work to build there is no instant success.  Do the money-making activities that are working first and then add on one new strategy at a time.

4. Not Finishing Anything –

If you are the type of person who has several projects going at the same time with nothing finished, then you should stop right now and listen. Pick one of the projects probably the one that is the closest to being finished and finish it. Not only will it feel good to accomplish something, but it will get something out there for you. Don’t wait for everything to be perfect. Misguided perfectionism can make or break a good business. A bunch of unfinished projects do you nor your audience any good.

5. Trying to Reinvent the Wheel

When it comes to certain business practices, it’s important that you don’t try to recreate something that won’t work. Likely someone has tried that before and you don’t have to waste your time. Also there are systems already in place that you can just plug your own business through.

A good example of this is marketing funnels in online marketing. So many people say they dislike them and refuse to use them. Well, these are tried-and-true practices that get results. If you want results, do what the successful people do.

6. Fear and Self-Doubt

Fear and self doubt will kill your business faster than anything. I have found that starting your day with affirmations, journaling, and personal development that you can completely change this feeling of self doubt. A couple off book suggestions are Overcoming Imposter Syndrome by Elizabeth Harrin and You are a Badass by Jen Sincero.

7. Busy rather than Productive –

There is a difference between being busy and being productive. I could be busy all day long, and not get anything I need to done. I’m sure some of you can relate to that. Make sure that you are doing money making tasks first then if you have time do the fluff work. Now, understanding that, you don’t have to be the energizer bunny either. Learn to work smarter, not harder. One example of this is to batch tasks together.

Stop the self sabotage so that you can have the success you desire. Take control and make good decisions for yourself and your business. Take steps daily to do what it takes to earn the type of money you want and need to earn.
